Opus RAMS: Your shortcut to site-specific Risk Assessment Method Statements

Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) are a critical part of safe working practices for any business undertaking construction or maintenance work. They set out the hazards involved in a work activity, the controls in place to manage those hazards, and the method of work to be followed.

Producing high-quality, site-specific RAMS is time-consuming, repetitive and error-prone. Most teams end up copying old Word documents, manually updating certificates and training, rebuilding the same content again and again, and hoping nothing has been missed. Opus RAMS exists to remove that friction.

What is Opus RAMS?

Opus RAMS is a structured way to produce complete, site-specific RAMS packs in minutes rather than hours. It brings risk assessments, method statements, COSHH, manual handling, plant certificates, staff training records, inductions and sign-off sheets together into a single, well-formatted PDF that's ready to issue to clients, principal contractors or inspectors.

Unlike static templates, Opus RAMS pulls live data from your account - people, training records, assets and documents - so every pack is:

  • Consistent across sites and activities
  • Up to date with current training, certificates and documents
  • Defensible if challenged by a client, principal contractor or inspector

Who it's for

Opus RAMS is designed for organisations that regularly need to produce RAMS, including:

  • Contractors and subcontractors undertaking site or maintenance work
  • Construction, maintenance and engineering firms
  • Facilities management teams
  • Health and safety consultants producing RAMS for clients
  • Businesses bidding for work that requires structured RAMS packs as part of pre-qualification
  • Site managers and supervisors

Why site-specific RAMS matter

Generic RAMS - those that are not tailored to the specific site, activity, or team involved - are of limited value. They can fail to identify site-specific hazards, provide impractical controls, and may not meet the requirements of principal contractors or clients.

Site-specific RAMS, on the other hand, demonstrate that the risks have been properly assessed and that appropriate controls are in place. They provide clear guidance for the team carrying out the work and can help to prevent accidents and injuries.
