COSHH Risk Assessments that go beyond the data sheet
For operations managers and safety leads responsible for sites that handle chemicals, dusts, fumes or biological agents. Bespoke assessments under the COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) Regulations 2002.

What's included in this service
A detailed evaluation of every hazardous substance in your workplace, including process-generated hazards like welding fumes, wood dust, silica and oil mists. Built around your site, your substances and your people, not a template.

Identify every substance on site
Your consultant audits every chemical, dust, fume and biological agent, from industrial solvents to everyday cleaners. Your existing SDS library is checked against actual workplace use. You leave with a complete, accurate picture of what's on site and where the gaps are.
One clear, prioritised report
You get a COSHH-compliant report linking each substance to its exposure route, health effect and control measure. The action plan is SMART, implementable, and ranked by risk. Clear next steps your team can work from, not file.
Know who's responsible and what to do next
Controls assigned using the full COSHH hierarchy - elimination, substitution, engineering controls like LEV, then PPE as last resort. Air quality testing or health surveillance set out with frequency. A 30-minute walkthrough ensures everything is understood, with 30 days of email support.

Builders Merchants
Your merchant stock is also a COSHH inventory: cement, timber dust, adhesives and fuels, all handled by staff and customers. We build the assessment around the substances you actually hold and how they're handled, to meet the COSHH Regulations 2002.

Warehousing & Logistics
Warehouses run on more hazardous substances than most people realise: diesel, LPG, battery acid, cleaning chemicals and dust. Our COSHH assessment covers each one as it's actually used, including process dust and fumes, to meet the COSHH Regulations 2002.

Manufacturing & Engineering
COSHH bites hardest in manufacturing, because the worst exposures are generated by the process itself: welding fume, silica, oil mist and wood dust. Our assessment evaluates every substance and by-product against the way your line actually runs, to meet the COSHH Regulations 2002.

Garden Centres
Garden centres handle a COSHH range all of their own: fertilisers, plant protection products, chlorine, composts and café chemicals, some sold to customers and some used by staff. We build the assessment around your substances and the tasks they're used in, to meet the COSHH Regulations 2002.

Metal Stockholders
The COSHH hazards in stockholding are easy to underestimate: cutting oils, mists, degreasers, coatings and welding fume, most of it produced by the process. Our assessment evaluates each by-product where it arises, to meet the COSHH Regulations 2002.

Childcare & Nurseries
A nursery's COSHH risks are everyday products: sanitisers, bleach, nappy disposal and craft materials, all used around young children. Our assessment sets safe, proportionate control under the COSHH Regulations 2002 without tying staff up in needless restrictions.

Frequently asked questions
What does a Competent Person actually do?
A Competent Person takes legal responsibility for your H&S compliance. That covers risk assessments, audits, policy, training coordination and regulatory compliance. You get accountability for getting it done, not advice you have to action yourself.
Can you work alongside our existing H&S team?
Yes. Many clients use us to extend their internal capability - specialist assessments, regulatory liaison, and Competent Person cover during absences. We support your team, not replace them.
How quickly can you start?
One-off projects can typically be scheduled within days. Partnership clients have a named consultant operational within two to three weeks. Urgent situation - an HSE inspection notice, for example - we mobilise faster.
What makes your sector specialists different from generic consultants?
A generic consultant applies standard regulations. Our specialists know the specific hazards common in your industry and the enforcement priorities that apply to it. For builders merchants, that means forklift operations around public access. For childcare, it means Ofsted compliance alongside workplace safety. For warehousing, it means racking inspections and shift-pattern risk.
What's the difference between the Partnership, one-off projects, and Compliance Cloud?
The Partnership gives you a named Competent Person who manages compliance end-to-end. One-off projects deliver specific services without ongoing commitment. Compliance Cloud is the software platform for real-time compliance management. Many clients combine them.
