Overview

Safer ladder use through proper inspection

This ladder inspection training course covers how to use a ladder safely and how to inspect one for damage before use. Content includes a basic overview of health and safety law, accident data, the hierarchy of working at height, risk assessment, and carrying out formal ladder inspections. Delegates also cover how to care for and store ladders so equipment remains safe in service for longer.

Delivered by a working Opus consultant

An Opus H&S consultant delivers the course - working practitioners rather than full-time classroom instructors. Content covers H&S legislation, accident causes, the hierarchy of working at height, ladder selection, set-up and safe use, and the pre-use and formal inspection process.

Certificate of attendance on completion

Delegates are continuously monitored during the session. Each successful delegate receives an Opus certificate of attendance confirming they have completed ladder inspection training. Refresher recommended every two to three years or after significant change of role, equipment, or site.

Prerequisites

None. Delegates need no prior qualifications. A basic working knowledge of the ladders and storage arrangements used on site is useful for the practical element but not required.
