The Highfield Level 2 & 3 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace gives delegates the knowledge of basic H&S practices essential in the workplace. The qualification covers the responsibilities of employers and employees, common causes of accidents and near misses, and the importance of recording them. Level 2 is a one-day foundation for staff at any level. Level 3 is a three-day course for managers, supervisors and team leaders who need a working understanding of H&S in their role.

What's covered
Level 2 (1 day): duties of employers and employees, benefits of good H&S, risk assessment, workplace hazards and controls, response to accidents and near misses, emergency procedures, reporting. Level 3 (3 days): legal framework, causes of injuries, safety management systems, cost of accidents, types of risk assessment, workplace hazards, incident management.

Level 3 is for managers, supervisors and team leaders (or those preparing for those roles) who need a good understanding of H&S relevant to their workplace.
Prerequisites
None. Level 3 benefits from existing workplace experience but is open to those preparing to step into management or supervisory roles.
