Tom Warman

Tom Warman is a Health & Safety and Food Safety Consultant at Opus Safety, providing practical compliance support to organisations across builders' merchants, hospitality, retail, manufacturing and food businesses.

He holds a BSc in Environmental Health and a Postgraduate Diploma in Health, Safety and Environment Management. Tom is a Certified Member of IOSH and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, and holds the NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and the NEBOSH General Certificate.

His work combines hands-on site consultancy with collaboration on the development and implementation of safety management systems. This includes health and safety audits, fire risk assessments and food safety inspections, as well as leading incident investigations and workplace transport assessments. He also develops and reviews risk assessments, safe systems of work and COSHH assessments, and creates and delivers supporting policies, procedures and training.

Tom works directly with site managers, operational teams and senior management to identify practical solutions to compliance issues, focusing on arrangements that work in day-to-day operations rather than simply producing documentation. He also supports clients in implementing and maintaining compliance management systems, helping organisations monitor actions, training, inspections and statutory requirements across single and multi-site operations.

As a client's designated Competent Person, Tom aims to become a practical extension of the management team rather than an adviser at a distance. He provides clear, proportionate advice based on UK health and safety legislation, recognised guidance and industry best practice, prioritising significant risks and helping management understand both what needs to be done and why.
