Nick Bruton

Nick Bruton spent over 12 years as an Environmental Health Officer with two busy West Midlands local authorities, which gave him an in-depth understanding of the law and of the enforcement mindset of what compliance should look like.

Moving into consultancy, he was able to translate that directly into what clients needed to do to achieve compliance, providing pragmatic and workable solutions across a range of businesses.

Nick still works with a number of colleagues from when he first entered consultancy. He has since progressed to Operations Director, overseeing consultant operations to ensure they deliver a first-class service to clients.

He believes it is important to understand a business and what makes it tick, because that leads to a better understanding of its operations and of which solutions will actually work. It is never one size fits all. As he puts it, working with a business is a partnership: Opus is not there to catch clients out, but to help them improve.
