Hannah Salt

Hannah Salt is an experienced environmental health and health and safety professional with an extensive background in regulatory compliance, enforcement and business consultancy.

She spent over 10 years working within local authority Environmental Health, developing strong technical expertise across health and safety, food safety and standards, accident investigation, infectious disease and wider environmental health disciplines.

During that time she worked with organisations ranging from small independent businesses to major national retailers. Her experience includes complex health and safety investigations, workplace inspections, RIDDOR assessment, risk assessment review and statutory enforcement. She acted as Lead Primary Authority Officer for a major national retailer and supported another large national retail organisation, providing commercially informed regulatory advice and liaising with enforcing authorities to promote consistent and proportionate approaches to compliance.

Hannah brings that regulatory experience into her consultancy work, giving clients insight into what an enforcing authority would expect to see in practice. She favours an educational and collaborative approach, working with clients to identify practical, proportionate solutions that achieve legal compliance while reflecting the realities of their operations.

As a client's designated Competent Person, Hannah sees her role as assisting and guiding. Drawing on her enforcement background, she can show clients what an enforcement officer would be looking for on a visit, helping them understand where their arrangements are robust and where improvements may be required.
