Three questions that keep you awake
01
Who is personally responsible when something goes wrong?
If there's an incident tomorrow, can you point to one person accountable for your health and safety compliance? Or does responsibility fragment across rotating consultants, internal staff, and software portals?

02
What happens if an inspector arrives unannounced?
Are you 100% certain nothing critical is being missed across all your sites? Could you produce documentation in minutes, not days?

03
Is your current approach actually protecting you or just ticking boxes?
Fragmented advice. Rotating faces. Gaps between audits. Does this sound like genuine protection?

Your outsourced Health & Safety partner. Complete support. No gaps.
The Opus Safety Partnership gives you a dedicated expert who is with you every step of the way and becomes and extension of your team.
Proactive management
A dedicated consultant who knows your business and prevents incidents before they happen.
Done-for-you delivery
We write the assessments, conduct the audits, and implement the solutions. You get outcomes, not homework.
Operational integration
Designed around your shift patterns, production schedules, and seasonal demands - not a generic compliance calendar.
The difference between advice and accountability
Most consultants tell you what to do. We take an active role in your compliance programme as your named Competent Person under UK law.
When compliance fails, the consequences are fines, prosecution, lost contracts, and reputational damage. Without a Competent Person, your business carries that exposure alone.

The real difference between reactive safety and a dedicated partner

Reactive Safety Approach

Opus Safety Partnership

Everything you need to stay compliant
Sector-specific compliance
Builders Merchants
Yard operations, loading safety, and customer-facing risk management. We understand the unique challenges of trade retail environments.

Warehousing & Logistics
MHE-intensive operations, racking safety, and loading bay risks. You need someone who can induct peak-season temps fast and ensure your night shift isn't a compliance blind spot.

Manufacturing & Engineering
24/7 production, machinery guarding, hot work, and COSHH exposure. You need someone who understands the tension between output targets and keeping people safe - and how to manage both.

Garden Centres
Seasonal displays changing weekly. Family footfall alongside forklift operations. Food hygiene in the café. Whether you're one site or ten - your risks are real and your compliance matters. You need someone who sees the full picture, not just the obvious risks.

Metal Stockholders
Heavy lifting, cutting operations, and materials handling across indoor and outdoor yards. Crane safety, manual handling risks, and COSHH exposure from oils and coatings. Your consultant knows this environment - not just the regulations that apply to it.

Childcare & Nurseries
Safeguarding requirements, fire safety in buildings designed for small children, food hygiene, outdoor play areas, and regulatory inspections from Ofsted as well as HSE. Your risk profile is unique - your consultant should be too.

Frequently asked questions
Do I really need a full Partnership if I'm already managing HSE in-house?
Even with internal resource, the Partnership adds sector specific expertise, regulatory monitoring, and legal backing as your documented Competent Person. The service can also provide coverage during employee absences or holidays.
How quickly can you start if we have an urgent HSE inspection coming up?
Initial consultations can occur within days. If you proceed, partnership setup begins immediately - typically operational within 2-3 weeks.
Can you work with our existing systems?
Yes. We integrate with your operations, processes, and existing documentation. The Compliance Cloud complements rather than replaces your systems.
What happens if our dedicated consultant leaves Opus Safety?
Continuity guaranteed. If your consultant moves on, we ensure a smooth handover to another expert who knows your business. The partnership continues without interruption.
What if we need specialist assessments (fire, asbestos, noise, legionella)?
Specialist assessments are included in the Partnership. We identify the assessments your site needs and organise them on your behalf, covering fire, asbestos, noise and legionella among others.
How is a Competent Person different to a Competent Advisor?
A competent advisor provides guidance. A Competent Person takes legal responsibility. The regulations require appointing a Competent Person who fulfills this statutory obligation.
Will this create more work for my team?
The Partnership reduces your team's workload rather than adding to it. Done-for-you delivery means we write assessments, conduct audits and coordinate training on your behalf. Automation inside Compliance Cloud removes most of the administrative burden.
